Jean Wortman, Visitor Services Manager
A long-time resident of the Eastern Shore, Jean brings to Adkins Arboretum a curiosity about the intersection of natural and cultural history, and particularly how that has played out in the Chesapeake region and on the Delmarva Peninsula.
Jean has a background in museum education, non-profit administration, and grant management. Her expertise is in developing and delivering educational programs that reach broad public audiences and in advancing best practices in small and mid-size non-profits. She’s worked at Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, Maryland Humanities, Washington College’s Starr Center, and most recently at the National Endowment for the Humanities. Jean holds a BA in American Studies from Lafayette College and is a proud graduate of the Cooperstown Graduate Program in Museum Studies.
She’s excited to provide a welcoming environment and to engage all Adkin’s visitors in exceptional experiences in nature.
