Adkins Arboretum is seeking a part-time environmental educator to assist with spring school group programs. Applicants should have a background in teaching and the environment, a love of the outdoors, and the ability to interact well with a diverse group of up to 20 students at a time. Dependability, flexibility, and time management are important attributes for this position.
School visits are scheduled on Wednesdays and Friday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.; the environmental educator will work approximately 10 hours per week. The pay for this position is $20/hour. The position begins in March and runs through May, with the potential to return for the fall season in September. To apply, contact Assistant Director Jenny Houghton at jhoughton@adkinsarboretum.org and include a resume with your email.
A 400-acre native garden and preserve, the Arboretum provides exceptional experiences in nature to promote environmental stewardship. Programs are aligned with Next Generation Science Standards and provide “feet wet, hands dirty” opportunities for students in grades pre-k through 12 to explore the Arboretum’s wetland, meadow, forest, and stream habitats.
