The Arboretum's capital expansion—the new Arboretum Center and the Native Garden Gateway—represents a substantial investment in public and private funds. To date, nearly $4 million has been raised from individual and corporate contributions, as well as Maryland Capital Bond Bills and grants from the National Park Service Chesapeake Bay Gateways Network, the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, the Chesapeake Bay Trust, the Van Dyke Family Foundation, the Grayce B. Kerr Fund, and the Marcia Brady Tucker Foundation.
The Arboretum's growth and success can be traced to its strong public support. Today, Arboretum membership totals 1,300, and the volunteer corps includes more than 150 dedicated and generous individuals. Of the Arboretum's 18,000 annual visitors, 5,000 are children.
