To feed the mind and nurture the body, Adkins Arboretum will offer a Soup ’n Walk program on Saturday, November 17. The program includes a guided walk, a delicious lunch and a chat about the nutrition behind the meal from nutritionist and Arboretum docent Julianna Pax.

The theme for the guided walk is Nuts and Berries are Food for Winter. The lunch menu includes black bean soup with onion and cilantro; quinoa with craisins, apricots and pecans; whole wheat flaxseed bread and cranberry apple crisp. The menu and nutrition talk will focus on the vegetables, fruits, beans, whole grains and fats recommended for a healthy diet. Copies of recipes are provided.

The Soup ’n Walk program begins at 11 a.m. The cost is $15 for Arboretum members and $20 for the general public. Pre-registration is required. For more information or to register, call 410-634-2847, extension 0.
