Native Plant Nursery

Adkins Arboretum native plant nursery

Adkins Arboretum’s Native Plant Nursery specializes in growing plants native to the Delmarva Peninsula. Many plants are propagated from locally collected seeds and cuttings. The Arboretum grows a large selection of trees, shrubs, vines, and perennials. These plants are used for restoration projects and gardening at the Arboretum and are for sale to the public.

The nursery crew takes a break to pose for a picture.

A dedicated group of volunteers and summer interns work with Arboretum staff in the nursery. They manage five hoop houses for container grown plants, a greenhouse and propagation beds.
