Ways to give

Adkins Arboretum relies on contributions to support its forward thinking vision as a native plant garden and preserve. The Arboretum is dedicated to teaching about the native flora of the Mid-Atlantic Coastal Plain by displaying plants in their natural habitats. Recognizing that the greatest threat to botanical diversity is land development, and that the greatest development pressures are on our coasts, the Arboretum is addressing an urgent need.

Tax deductible donations may be made for a variety of projects, detailed below. For more information about ways to give to Adkins Arboretum, contact Ellie Altman, Executive Director. (E-mail: , Phone: 410-634-2847, extension 22)

Annual Reports for 2005 and 2006 can be downloaded or you may request hard copy reports by contacting the Arboretum.

Membership Adkins Arboretum welcomes new members at several membership levels. Visit the membership page to join.
General Donations

Make a general fund donation online using your credit card or donate by mail or telephone. Donated funds will be used for general operating expenses unless you specify otherwise.

The Campaign to Build a Green Legacy Adkins Arboretum has announced a $5 million Capital Campaign, “The Campaign to Build a Green Legacy.” This project will build a new “green” Arboretum Center; create an ecologically sensitive entry and parking area; and provide endowment funds that will help sustain the expansion and support new programs. At its completion in 2008, the Arboretum will be able to broaden its educational offerings and research initiatives to accommodate a growing visitorship. Learn more about the new Arboretum Center or make an online donation to the Campaign.
Annual Appeal Contribute to the Arboretum’s Annual Appeal to support programs that teach and demonstrate stewardship of our land. Make a donation by mail or telephone, or donate online to the Annual Appeal.
Tribute Program The Adkins Arboretum Tribute Program provides an opportunity to make a meaningful gift that will be an enduring tribute in honor or memory of family or friends. All tribute gifts are used to support the Arboretum’s mission to promote the appreciation and conservation of the native plants of the Delmarva Peninsula through its educational, research, cultural and recreational programs. Learn more by visiting the Tribute Program page.
William Adkins Legacy Society

The William Adkins Legacy Society will honor those persons who have chosen to support the Arboretum’s endowment through a planned or deferred gift, such as a bequest, Charitable Gift Annuity, Charitable Lead Trust, Charitable Remainder Annuity Trust, or Charitable Remainder Unitrust.
